This beautiful vintage Victorian style teacup & saucer set features a double row of decorative flower and bead trim on the saucer and on the teacup, multiple rows of vertical flower and bead trim with a decorative beaded strip along the top and base. The center of the saucer and the inside of the teacup feature a winged cupid, putti or angel with a bow in one hand and torch in the other. The colors are a creamy white base with a tan/light brown trim.
This teacup and saucer set measures 6" in diameter for the saucer; the teacup measures just over 2" tall, 3-3/4" diameter at the lip of the teacup, 4-3/4" from the outside handle edge to the lip. Both pieces are touchmarked on the bottom as shown. Maker's mark unknown.
This maker's mark, without letters or words, has two rampant (standing on one leg) lions with streaming banners on either side of a crown above a shield. This mark resembles the general style of marks found on Victorian period pottery from England. This type of generic mark without the word England, company or pattern name are almost always of a more contemporary manufacture.
