Ornate footed Pairpoint Silver silverplate spoon holder (also known as a spooner) with a tulip shaped rim, ornate leaf and flower design on the ornately bedecked handles and four sturdy feet.
The two elaborate handles features scrolls, inset rounds with a flower and leaf motif, a band of tulips and other chase work, engraved leaf and berries along the body and very ornamentally cast feet.
This antique silver plate spoon holder has achieved a very soft patina over the years. Almost a pewter gray color. We believe this antique sugar bowl may have had an oxidized finish on it originally.
Overall, this spooner by Pairpoint silver is in extremely good condition with only surface wear to the inside of the bowl.
This silverplate spoon holder measures 5" tall, 5½" from handle to handle, 3" diameter at the rim and weighs a beefy 13.4 ounces. What a spectacular antique to add to your collection! You can read more about the history of Pairpoint Silver from our Silver Manufacturers pages. Touchmarked on the bottom with PAIRPOINT MFG. Co., QUADRUPLE PLATE and the pattern number 817 or 8L7.
