The hand-tooled design on the front of both holloware pieces features leaves and other ornamentation. The back side of the covered sugar bowl features the same. The back of the creamer, due to its smaller size, features only the three fronds of leaves sans the larger ornamentation.
The quadruple silverplate covered sugar bowl features two applied handles with banding and beading, with a wreath with 3 berries and a leaf surrounding a dove, with a 7-bunch berry group. The flat chased rim features doves, berries and lattice. The sugar bowl does show a moderate amount of nicks and light surface scrapes on the outside of the bowl, some silverplate wear along the outside of the handles and moderate amount of surface scrapes on the bottom of the inside. The base of this footed sugar bowl shows the most amount of silverplate loss and wear. Only a few small spots of silverplate wear are noted on the lid along the outside edge, and two spots on the surface. The sugar bowl lid also has an ornate fan-shaped finial knob.
The silverplate sugar bowl measures 7.5" wide, 7.5" high and weighs 15.3 ounces.
The matching silverplate creamer has the most wear noted of the two pieces, though most of the damage is unobtrusive at best. The base of the handle has a very small hole, as does the one side of the creamer spout. The inside shows many scrapes and gouges, though only a few of them are down to base metal. The silverplate on the outside of the creamer is still very thick and in good condition for its age. A few spots of light pitting and a small rub mark area along the outer edge on one side. The footed base shows only two areas of silverplate loss, and some bleeding along the outside edge.
The silverplate creamer measures 6" from tip of handle to tip of spout, stands 5-3/4" high and weighs 8.2 ounces.
