Stately Victorian footed quadruple silver plate creamer pitcher by EUREKA SILVER PLATE with extremely ornate decorative details. (c. 1890s) Original quadruple silver plate has never been re-silvered. Beautiful and desirable highly polished silver patina.
Elegant shaped creamer pitcher, with hand-tooled engraved floral and leaf design on both the front and back. Somewhat lobed in shape.
Minor silverplate wear noted around the engraved designs, a very small amount along the ridge of the lobes, a spot under the rim, expected wear along the sides of the ornate handle, and a 1/2" spot of wear on the ribbed ring where the creamer attaches to the square scalloped footed base.
The applied ornate Victorian silverplate handle features Victorian scrolls and a large acanthus leaf along the top of the handle. An ornate scrolled rim has been applied to the entire lip of this creamer pitcher. Some discoloration of the silverplate in the bottom of this creamer pitcher is noted.
This silverplate Eureka silverplate creamer measures 4-1/2" at the highest, 4-1/4" from tip of handle to tip of spout, 3" diameter and weighs 7 ounces.
Overall, this is an excellent example of Victorian silver, one more than worthy for your silver collection.
Touchmark on the base reads EUREKA SILVER PLATE CO. with the logo of three stars, QUADRUPLE PLATE and the pattern number 1008. I also have the matching Eureka Silver Plate Sugar Bowl offered separately here.
