The BEST ornate quadruple silverplate Victorian Soup Tureen we ever had in our possession in the much desired Art Nouveau design. STUNNING Victorian details surround this antique quadruple silverplate lidded soup tureen by Forbes Silver Company.
The original quadruple silver plate has achieved a warm, soft patina with only moderate wear. There are no dents, dings or other damage noted whatsoever. The four applied ornate silverplate feet feature heavy scroll details and measures almost 3" across each!
The high quadruple silver plate dome lid is sectioned into 8 lobes,. The lid does show moderate silverplate wear on on a large portion of the top, but there are no dents, dings or other damage noted.
The inside of this silverplate tureen is in excellent condition with only a few very tiny spots of discoloration noted. No pitting or scratches in the quadruple silverplate.
The silverplate is much brighter than shown in the photo, which is darker due to the shadow caused by the lid and the angle of the camera.
The decorative finial knob on the top of this silverplate tureen is very ornate and gives a finishing touch of Victorian era detail to this antique Forbes quadruple silverplate tureen.
The high relief floral and scroll design is located on four of the lobes of this silverplate tureen, just above the decorative and ornate feet. The detail is simply outstanding. Each hand-tooled Victorian floral design measures almost 4" by 1-3/4" wide.
The quadruple silverplate tureen measures 8" high, 9" from handle to handle and weighs almost 2-1/4 pounds. Touch marked on the base with the Forbes logo, and the pattern number 659.
This Forbes silverplate tureen is a fine example of Victorian era tableware. Beautiful soft patina to the remaining silverplate. As is, it is a beautiful piece and would be an excellent addition to your antique silver plate collection. Re-silvered, it could become your most treasured antique silver piece of holloware!
