Beautiful discontinued vintage ROYAL WORCESTER swirl ribbed and footed Tea Cup (teacup) and saucer set in the "Blue Sprays" pattern, a reproduction of an early Worcester. (c. 1962) Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing to note.
This pretty teacup & saucer set features three distinct floral sprays, thistles and butterflies in a dark cobalt blue. The footed and ribbed tea cup has a swirled ribbed design with a large floral spray on the front, a large butterfly on the center and a smaller spray on the back. The unique 3 floral designs are represented on this Royal Worcester bone china tea set. This swirl ribbed footed teacup measures 2-3/4" tall, 3-1/4" in diameter and 4-1/8" from the outside tip of the handle to the outside edge of the lip.
The matching saucer has a swirled ribbed design with the three floral sprays and three unique butterflies. It measures 5-1/2" in diameter and is backstamped in the dark cobalt blue ink with CIRCA 1760, REPRODUCTION OF EARLY WORCESTER, ROYAL WORCESTER, BONE CHINA, MADE IN ENGLAND, and the pattern name BLUE SPRAYS. The standard printed factory mark, included the number 51 in the center that refers to the year 1751 when the Worcester Porcelain Company was founded by Dr. John Wall.
