Vintage English ROYAL GRAFTON bone china footed tea cup (teacup) & saucer set from England featuring a soft peach trellis design with pink and yellow flower sprays and gold colored scrolls and scalloped borders trimmed in gold. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or damage to note.
This unique vintage pattern (un-named) features a peach color background with a lattice design, decorative scrolls and vines surrounding sprays of flowers in pinks, yellows, oranges and blues. The pattern is on the INSIDE of the tea cup and the outside has a thin band of gold along the body, another along the foot, and gold trim along the top scalloped edge.
Royal Grafton was manufactured by A.B. Jones & Sons Ltd, Grafton Works Longton. Staffordshire Potteries from approximately 1900 to 1972. The backstamp on this tea cup & saucer set was used from 1949, though an entirely different backstamp was used beginning in 1950.
The vintage English bone china footed tea cup measures 2" tall, 3-3/4" in diameter, has a scalloped lip with gold trim, a band of gold trim along the outside of the body, at the foot and applied to the edges of the handle. The matching English bone china saucer measures 5-1/2" in diameter, stands 3/4" tall and has a gently scalloped edge with gold trim. Both the tea cup and saucer are backstamped in gold metallic with ROYAL GRAFTON BONE CHINA within a diamond shape under the crown logo and ENGLAND. The tea cup has the pattern number of 6584.1
