Vintage TRI-COLOR BLUE Wedgwood Jasperware Club shaped Dish or Tray, with applied classical Jasperware design. Traditional white Jasperware leaf and berry trim applied along the edges together with two 4-leaf clovers. (c. 1950's) Cream Jasperware, light blue body and Portland blue (dark blue) applied Jasperware trim.
The most famous of all Josiah Wedgwood's inventions was Jasperware. The unglazed vitreous body provides the perfect background for classic scenes in bas-relief. Collectors of Wedgwood and Wedgwood Jasperware know that the tri-color items are especially collectible and difficult to find. Each section of the Club of the Wedgwood Jasperware TRI-COLOR Light Blue Tray features a different classic scene. There are no chips, cracks or crazing on the dish tray or within the applied Jasperware. Excellent condition!
The Wedgwood Jasperware TRI-COLOR Light Blue Club Dish Tray is hallmarked on the base "WEDGWOOD" "MADE IN ENGLAND", a "B" and is dated from the early 1950's. The Wedgwood dish tray measures 4-1/2" by 4-1/2" and is a mere 1/2" high.
