Collectors of international collector porcelain china bells will fall in love with this figural Scotland Lass, wearing a traditional Scottish Tartan Dress by Schmidt Bros., Inc. If you never have the opportunity to travel to Edinburgh, Glasgow or The Highlands of Scotland, this little Scottish Lass bell will bring the Scottish culture to your cottage! Lovely detailing and what I believe is authentic tartan colors, including a rust colored beret / tam perched jauntily upon her fair brown hair. This bell has it all!
This porcelain china Scottish Colleen maiden bell is fully decorated on all sides, including the back. Her colorful long tartan skirt wraps entirely around the bell. The sweet, yet saucy, expression on her face is just priceless! An old fashioned black bow at her neckline frames her face nicely. Her full long Scottish highland tartan skirt has benn done in brilliant colors of hunter green, Kelly green, red, yellow, white and deep blue. Her white shirt has ruffles at the neck and again at the end of the sleeves. The long sleeves of her blouse are a pale green.
And, for a mere touch of Scottish history - the Scottish flag is the cross of St. Andrew, also known as the Saltire. It is said to be one of the oldest national flags of any country - dating back at least to the 12th century.
This Scotland Lass figural collectible porcelain bell measures 5.5" tall and 2.75" in diameter. The clapper is an unglazed ball tethered by a gold metallic string. A gold foil label on the inside of the bell indicates that this was designed by Schmidt Bros. Inc. and is named "Scottish Girl".
We note a pin size chip on the side of her skirt, and another pin size chip from the back of her beret. Two areas in her hair, framing her face, are rubbed, but not chipped. No cracks or crazing noted. Ready to display with your international collectible bell collection.
