Nearly mint condition vintage A. Cohen & Sons three piece silverplate Crosby teaset which includes a silverplate teapot, covered sugar bowl and creamer pitcher. A Cohen & Sons of New York, NY was founded in 1911 are were the largest wholesale jewelry distributors in the world - catering to fine retail jewelers. A. Cohen & Sons were wholesalers of sterling and silverplated holloware items and ceased to exist in 1985.
The clean lines and high polished finish (satin finished interiors) dates this piece from around the 1930's. The vintage silverplate tea pot / teapot is in extremely good condition, like-new on the inside, no dings, dents or dimples on the body,handle or spout, and only a small amount of silverplate wear on the handle. A tiny spot of discoloration is noted to the inside, together with what looks like a scratch to the plating on the inside behind the spout. The high polished silver finish reflects like a mirror. This silver tea pot measures 7.75" tall, 9.25" between the teapot spout and end of handle, is approximately 4.5" in diameter and weighs 1 pound 9.2 ounces.
The matching covered sugar bowl is in mint condition, with no silverplate wear or loss noted, no dings, dents or dimples and no scratches to the high polished silver finish. The inside of this bowl is exceptionally clean; as though it were never used. Two delicate applied handles and plain lid with finial. This silver sugar bowl measures 3.75" tall, 5.5" between the handles, is approximately 3.25" in diameter and weighs 7.1 ounces.
The matching silverplate creamer pitcher is in mint condition, with no silverplate wear or loss noted, no dings, dents or dimples and no scratches to the high polished silver finish. The inside of this creamer pitcher is exceptionally clean and bright, as though it were never used. A delicate applied handle and plain creamer spout make this plump silver creamer so cute. The creamer pitcher measures 2.75" tall at the handle, 5/25" from tip of spout to end of handle, is approximately 3.25" in diameter and weighs 4 ounces.
