STUNNING 5-piece antique Hartford Sterling Co. quadruple silver plate George III tea or coffee set with a high polished silver finish and excellent condition! Urn-shaped 8 panel antique silver coffee pot, teapot, covered sugar bowl and creamer!
Each antique quadruple silverplate holloware piece of this tea or coffee set is footed with an 8-sided (octagon) George III design, with an 8-panel urn shape and delicate beaded trim along the necks. Each features a high polished silver finish to exteriors, and a satin finish to the insides.
The antique quadruple silver plate footed coffee pot (the larger of the two) is in excellent condition, with no dents, dimples or other damage to note. There is only ultra-light rubbing along the edges of the panels and a few light scuff marks to the handle. We also not that the base rocks ever so slightly when initially set down. Very clean on the inside - looks like it was never used! Elegant beaded trim along the top, decorative finial, applied handle with spur and an graceful coffee spout. This antique quadruple silverplate coffee pot measures 9.5" tall, 9.5" between the handle and spout, is approximately 5.5" diameter and weighs 2 pounds.
The matching antique quadruple silver plate footed teapot (the smaller tea pot) is also in extremely good condition, with no dents, dimples and only a few extremely light surface scratches/rubbings to note. There is only ultra-light rubbing along the edges of the panels and a few light scuff marks to the handle. Very clean on the inside - looks like it was never used! Elegant beaded trim along the top, decorative finial, applied handle with spur and an graceful teapot spout. This antique quadruple silverplate tea pot measures 8.75" tall, 9" between the handle and pout, is approximately 5" in diameter and weighs 1 pound 13 ounces.
The matching antique quadruple silver plate lidded footed sugar bowl has two graceful handles, a decorative finial and beaded trim along the top. Again, only very light surface rubbings noted to the edges of the design. One very light surface dimple is noted in one of the panels. The inside is exceptionally clean, though there is silver wear noted on one side. Again the bright polished silver finish. This antique quadruple silverplate lidded and footed sugar bowl measures 7.5" tall, 7.5" between the handles, is approximately 5" in diameter and weighs 1 pound 4.5 ounces.
The matching antique quadruple silver plate footed creamer pitcher is also in exceptional condition with no silverplate wear or loss noted, and only very light surface rubbings noted to the edges of the design. No dents, dimples or other damage to note. A few light surface scratches due to storage are noted. This antique quadruple silverplate footed creamer pitcher measures 6" tall at the handle, 6" between the handle and the creamer pitcher spout, is approximately 4" in diameter and weighs 13.4 ounces with a high polished silver finish.
