Beautiful mirror silver finish 2-piece oval vegetable entree dish by Primrose Plate Silver with elegant simple lines and ornate handles. The matching silverplate cover doubles as a second serving dish when turned upside down - so it's like purchasing two service pieces for the price of one!
Silverplate oval entree dishes became popular from the 1770's onwards. Until the 1820's, most were oval or rectangular in shape. Earlier examples of silver vegetable or entree dishes were often shallower than those made during the Regency period and later.
