Antique WILCOX SILVER PLATE CO. quadruple silver plate cruet caster (castor) with the original five (5) crystal glass cruets! (c. 1867-1898)
Three part cruet caster castor quadruple silver plate frame comes apart for easy polishing, storage and shipping!. Elegant etched floral, oak leaf and trellis design surrounds the apron the frame, with an ornate art nouveau caster frame handle design. Bright, high-polish silver finish on this revolving silverplate caster frame, base and handle.
All of the hand-etched cruet bottles are original, antique and matching and the glass is clear and clean. All have their original tops of silverplate or blown glass with bubbles and striations.
The antique glass mustard pot has a silverplate lid, which also has a small opening for a condiment mustard spoon. Very clean, with no chips, cracks or repairs to the glass. The silverplate lid opens smoothly but does show a small amount of silverplate wear along the edges. It measures 6.125" tall and 2.25" in diameter.
The two taller condiment glass cruets have silverplate caps. A small amount of silverplate wear is noted on the finial cruet top. The other cap is nearly devoid of silverplate. Both silverplate caps screw on. No chips, cracks or other damage noted to the glass cruets. These glass cruets measures 7.5" high and 7.25" high respectively and are both 2.25" in diameter.
The two glass cruets with ground glass stoppers are original. One is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage to note. The other (taller) does have a noticeable chip in the rim,and a crack from the chip, down the neck and into the body of the antique glass cruet. The ground stoppers are original and in very good condition. The ground stopper on the smaller cruet has a bit of roughness on one of the facets. The larger antique glass cruet measure 6.25" tall to the necks, 8.75" tall to the top of the glass stopper and is 2.25" in diameter. The slightly smaller antique glass cruet measures 6.25" tall to the neck, 8.25" tall to the top of the glass stopper and also measures 2.25" in diameter.
This set is touchmarked on the the underside of the base with WILCOX SILVER PLATE CO., MERIDEN, CONN, QUADRUPLE PLATE and the pattern number 542,. The quadruple silver plate castor caster frame measures 15.75" high, 7" diameter, and weighs (with the antique glass cruets) 3 pounds, 15 ounces.
