Antique ROGERS SMITH & CO. quadruple silver plate cruet caster (castor) with original six (6) crystal glass cruets! (c. 1877-1898)
Three part cruet caster castor quadruple silverplate frame comes apart for easy polishing, storage and shipping!. Elegant plain design along the apron the frame, with an ornate art nouveau floral handle design. Bright, high-polish silver finish on this revolving silverplate caster frame, base and handle.
All of the hand-etched cruet bottles are original, antique and matching and the glass is clear and clean. All have their original tops of silverplate or blown glass with bubbles and striations.
The antique glass mustard pot has a silverplate lid, which also has a small opening for a condiment mustard spoon. Very clean, with no chips, cracks or repairs to the glass. The silverplate lid opens smoothly and is near perfect with only one tiny spot of roughness. It measures 5.75' tall and 2.5" in diameter.
The two taller condiment glass cruets have silverplate caps. No silverplate loss or wear noted. Minor rub marks noted on one of the caps. One of the antique glass cruets (oil) has a screw-on silverplate top, the other (vinegar) has a pop-on silverplate top. No chips, cracks or other damage noted to the glass cruets or to their lids. The glass vinegar cruet does have a bit of roughness at the neck where the cap slides on. The glass vinegar cruet measures 8" high and 2.5" in diameter. The glass oil cruet measures 7.75" high and 2.5" in diameter.
The three glass cruets with ground glass stoppers are again in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage to note. The ground stoppers are also in excellent condition. The two larger antique glass cruets measure 6.875" tall to the necks, 9" tall to the top of the glass stopper and are 2.5" in diameter. The slightly smaller antique glass cruet measures 6.5" tall to the neck, 8.5" tall to the top of the glass stopper and also measures 2.5" in diameter.
This set is touchmarked on the top of the base with ROGERS SMITH & CO., MERIDEN, CT., and QUADRUPLE. The quadruple silver plate castor caster frame measures 15" high, 8" diameter, and weighs (with the antique glass cruets) 5 pounds, 7 ounces. You can read more about the Roger S.
