Popular antique silverplate CHARTER OAK Serving Spoons Tablespoons by 1847 Rogers Bros. (c. 1906). Very heavy and ornate with oak leaves, acorns and scrolls. Never monogrammed.
These silver plate tablespoons or serving spoons are still in good condition, but there is considerable surface scratching to the heel of one of the spoons, and a 1/4 circle of heel wear on both. The inside bowls of each silver spoon show use scratches and the underside tips show a very small amount of wear. One of the silver teaspoons has a very gentle distortion to the tip edge which can be felt.
XS 1847 Rogers Bros. Triple - This is the grade ordinarily sold and more than suffiencent for any except especially hard wear. Tablespoons were plated with not less than 12 ounces to the gross.
Each antique silver plate tablespoon measures 8.25" in length and weighs 2.7 ounces. Touchmarked on the back of each tablespoon is 1847 ROGERS BROS., XS TRIPLE. This pair still has many years of use left and would be perfect for additional serving spoons for your silver flatware set.
