Pretty Japanese style antique quadruple silverplate cream and sugar bowl set by Meriden B. This rotund set features engraved flowers on both sides of these holloware items.
Bright, high polished silver finish, the original quadruple silverplate, remains intact with no silverplate wear or loss. The body of the open silver sugar bowl measures approximately 3.75" in diameter, 6" between the handles, 4" high and weighs 10.2 ounces. Decorative trim around the neck. A small amount of surface discoloration is noted inside the sugar bowl. A tiny dimple is also found near one of the handles. Almost un-noticeable.
The matching antique silver creamer measures approximately 3.5" in diameter around the body, 4.75" in length, 4" high and weighs 8.2 ounces. A small amount of surface discoloration is noted to the bottom of the creamer, and unknown surface scratch marks are noted to the back of the inside of this creamer.
Both antique silver pieces are touchmarked on their bottoms with MERIDEN B. Co., the Meriden B. logo of a pair of scales, QUADRUPLE PLATE and the pattern number 873. You can read more about the history of Meriden from our Silver Manufacturers pages.
